Yes. Power tapering is feeding less signal symmetrically to the outer (at the top or bottom of the line) drivers to contour the wavefront.

Power tapering is widely used to reduce far field side lobe levels in pro sound arrays. For near field line arrays tapering can be used to reduce sound blooming (unequal room power loading). Power tapering is best applied to the woofer line and works best for me if the ratio of the number of drivers in the taper is less than one. For example, in the Linus 2 array there are 10 mid bass drivers tapered in a 3/2/2/3 drivers feed.
