You won't get 3db everytime you add a speaker actually you would get 6db everytime you double the number of speakers. +3db for the added speaker(s) and +3db from double the power handling. But your right you get +3db everytime you double the speakers that is if you keep the power the same. Won't comment on line array or bessel array as I havn't heard either one.
