Vintage from the late '60's.

Fairly efficient at about 106dB with an Fs around 40, the low "F" Pedal Tone in the Berlioz Requiem.

Kind of a mid-horn with just a .522 bore and 8 1/2" bell but it projects the lowest octave as well as the highest. In fact, it's (my)range is just about limited to 3 octaves:)

It's so weird listening to myself instead of CD's after 15 years of not playing!

Trying to get my chops back with 1/2 hour a day of excercises.

The Internet is just as powerful a tool for musicians as for anything else. Forums, info sites; all the major and not-so-major players from the Philharmonics to local Jazz bands have websites.

I printed out all my warm-up exercises and Etudes from one site. Amazing.

And of course I'm listening to nothing but Berlioz, R. Strauss and Dvorak for classical. J.J. Johnson and BS&T for Jazz and Pop. All I did before was play classical in orchestras but I'm starting to learn J.J.'s riffs on Sonny Rollins Volume 2.

A friend in high school played one that looked just like that. I just had a plain old run of the mill Bunn. Never learned to read music though in the 5-6 years I played the thing. Just had that friend show me the part before hand. I don't remember what his was now, but it looked very similar and was from about that time period. He took his playing very seriously.

Very COOL!

Not too familiar with trombones, but with the long sound delay don't you have to blow into it before the other band members play their notes? Zene

You're so right!

Every orchestra everywhere is time-aligned backwards!
