Hi All, I have a pair of EV MC8's I want to try out in either a cabinet or an OB design. The sensitivity is rated @ 46 db EIA, Does anyone out there know what that translates to in modern terms, 1W/1M? Thanx!

My LS-8's have an old EIA rating of 42 dB. People who have measured the LS-8's say they are around 91-92dB by todays standards.

I found some paperwork in my files that say the MC-8 is 93.792 dB sensitivity (this was from someone's measurement from one of the forums).

I have some early 70's EV literature that claims 97 dB sensitivity.

See if this makes any sense. It was sent to me a few years ago by another forum member.

EIA was .001W/m rating...

10*log(1/.001)=30dB gain

20*log(30/3.28)=19.22dB gain

19.22+ 30=49.22dB added to the EIA rating

Thanx much Hurdy_Gurdy man. I searched "the net" for a conversion chart but found nothing. By the way, looked @ your gallery pix. Quite a collection of interesting musical instruments.
