I had the same experience (anemic midbass) with a previous project using an 8" Radio Shack driver but was surprised by the strength of the midbass with this latest FE166E project. The room I was using them in provided quite a bit of room reinforcement, so measurments are not too meaningful, but in that room I measured a slight rise between 100 and 70hz, falling sharply below 60hz. Even at the Dallas Audio club meeting in a completely different room placement the midbass did not seem deficient. Jim Denton is now the owner, so maybe he can comment on how they sound in his listening room in Tulsa. Better yet, for a truly objective evaluation, Wayne might be persuaded to go over to Jim's house to listen and provide a professional assessment.
