What it puts me in mind of, as many similar projects do, is the design of an instrument rather than a speaker cabinet. Designs such as this, for me, are art museum quality.

This relates to my other remarks about Boutique Audio. I would like to place something like a Tapered Quarter Wave Tube setup in some public place like an art gallery or coffee house to get people used to the idea that speakers can be more than boxes.

>>The illusion of acoustic reality is one goal, and the blending of furnature and art in the owner's decor is the other. What about black piano finish speakers rather than wood finish, black can go with anything. Sounds like the wife has gotten to you, since you can't have black cabinets in the living room anymore.
