I ran across a site with some interesting pictures of old Soviet radios and "record players", even a speaker with a horn driver (under "Miscellanea").

Here's some "trivial trivia" for you. Russians are taught that Alexander Popov invented radio. This is a person almost unknown in the West. There is some controversy about the importance of contributions by Tesla, Marconi, Bell, etc but most agree that each came up with some version of radio around the same time. Yet few here know about Popov.
