I thought this would work out well in an open baffle design.

But would it only play well at high volume?

HI Ion,
A 4 cubic foot BR box with a 1.85 diameter port, and a 3.41 long port tube would well with these. Yo uare rigyht, the volume would need to be turned up, so small tube amps are out!
