Is it preferred to mount this horn to a baffle from the front of the baffle, or the back? The baffle is 3/4" thick. Thanks!

Although mounting from the rear is devine, "cowgirl" has it's good points, too.

If baffle mounting, it's best if you can make the mouth flush. A smooth transition is what you want with no abrupt changes. Also, baffle mounting makes the horn radiate into halfspace (as opposed to full-space) if the baffle is large enough. The 811 is large enough that it really doesn't need it if the crossover point is above 800Hz. But you can't ever be too smooth.
