When my parents died a couple of years ago they had military funerals and were interred in a National Cemetery. It was very humbling to see how many WWII and Korea vets are buried every day; it’s stunning to realize they’re all passing very quickly now. It’s also a revelation to see row on row, acre after acre of grave markers – all people who defended this country in its darkest hours. There are many National Cemeteries in every region of the country; there’s probably one just a short drive away from where you are right now. You might drop by one this weekend and contemplate some of the events behind what you’ll find there and what they mean to you today.

Nice post Charlie; I would add there is a Vietnam Memorial pretty much in every town now that could use a visit also. The kids need to get their heads out of the computors and see this.
