I swear; reading this A7 thread, you just cannot make this stuff up.
It's a beautifull thing. I still like my old KLH Model 5's for what it's worth. But in terms of efficiency I think they hover around 75db, similar to the Bose' 901's.

Greets! Yeah, for a variety of reasons there's lots of albums that either were never released in the USA or only as part of a complilation set. Of the Japanese mixes, their 'live' series are my faves. They obviously take their miking/mixing seriously. "Cheap Trick 'live'" (a band that never made it 'big' stateside) on a big VOTT or similar is the next best thing to being there IMO. GM

Greets! The original release of this set: Hopefully when they 'remastered' it they didn't re-mix it for boombox, etc., playback, i.e. compressed to maybe +5 dB transient peaks. The drum/midbass transients drove a McIntosh MC2300 (300 W/channel) into clipping driving compression loaded A4s when cranked up to ~'live'. GM

Thanks. I'll check it out. Some of my favorite albums are live recordings. Most concert albums are lousy, but the ones that are done right blows away any studio albums. Combination of live energy and direct to disk recording. Some of my favorites in no particular order are: Allison Krauss Live
Clapton Unplugged
Eva Cassidy at Blues Alley
Diana Krall Live
Nelson and Cash, VH-1 Storyteller
Lyle Lovett Live
