I just purchased a pair of speaker cabinets at a local pawn shop. Each contained a JBL D-140R 15 inch woofer and an le5/2 midrange. My questions pertain to the woofers. What does the R in D-140R stand for?Next, are these woofers usable in a home stereo application? I was thinking maybe a large bass reflex corner cabinet, a University Classic corner horn, a Pi cornerhorn or ????. I would really like to use these woofers as they are well made, in excellent condition and I got them cheap. However, I do not want to spend a lot of time and money building cabinets if they only perform well in a pro audio environment. I really would appreciate any information or opinions and offer my thanks in advance. Thankyou, Andrew

The D140 T/S specs are similar to the JBL 2205, so you can use it in cabinets designed for JBL 2205. If you're interested, send me your E-Mail address and I'll send you some plans. Vas 10.5ft3 Qms 5.0 Qes 0.22 Qts 0.21 Fs 30Hz Sens 98dB/W/M Max Power 150Wrms You might want to confirm these specs though, as there are no JBL D140/E140/K140 recone kits available and so any repairs would have required a substitution or aftermarket kit.
