Please forgive my poor english I am German. I want to use only the basshorn part of my Yamaha S5115HT speakers. They are like the Altec VOT with a bass horn that is also vented using a 15inch speaker. I will not use the vented part but add a back chamber to the horn. The horn mouth is 26,5 inch x 22,5 inch. Depth is 14 inch. The throat is about 12inch in diameter with slightly flat top and bottom. How low will this horn go? Is 160 hz possible?
A 14 inch pathway will support a potential Fc of 242 Hz. The horn will pass frequencies below that in direct radiator mode. I personally don't think a 242 Hz Fc makes sense with a 15 inch driver when the same could be accomplished with an eight.
