what is the crossover frequency of the hammer dynamics super 12? from the website it looks like 10,000 Hz. is the 12 really made by eminence? who makes the tweeter? $650 for a pair of kits seems like a pretty good deal if the parts are good.
The 12" is based on an Eminence driver (as far as I recall Beta 12 - but mind you, I could be wrong!). But it's highly modified - another VC and diaphragm system - think the only left of the original Eminence is the basket and the magnet. I don't know the X-over frequency, but since the Hammer 12 uses a kind of whizzer, 10kHz seems plausible. I think they changed the type of super tweeter they use recently...
Do you know what is different about the Hammer 12 than the Beta 12? As I recall, Eminence makes a fullrange 12 with a whizzer, maybe the voice coil and cone from it goes in the Beta 12? I wonder what that supertweeter is? One last question, do you know what all is involved in the crossover?
