That's it, more or less, but in reality the idea of short versus long throw is somewhat specious, as there is no difference in how far a 60 degree horn will 'throw' versus a 90 degree horn if they have the same on axis SPL. What does differ is the width of the coverage zone; by and large one wants a wider beam for a shorter throw so that the audience in close and off-axis can hear it. But this whole concept has been rendered somewhat moot in the pro ranks by line-array technology, which addresses the long-throw aspect via nearfield (-3dB per distance doubling from the source)coverage zones up to 300 feet or so deep, and close-in dispersion with curved (J-Line)arrays.
