Hi all So i was thinking-i have a 2226 on ported box(33hz 175L) ,and adrian mentioned to me that it has a similar response to the lab12 on a larger horn,so why buy a woofer when the existing one works. 240watts=130db spl with 2226 on 490L 30hz horn this way -i can add more or less volume easily ontop, independant of horn length -i can inspect woofer/replace -ease of construction (btw im selling my car so its no use designing a small labhorn for it)

I would construct the horn first, listen to it and only later decide if the extra 15 dB are really wanted. You may be happy without the 350 w amp :) And with such a big enclosure, don't forget about bracing... In fact it doesn't seem big at all if I compare against my 2k litter space :)

I'd definitly do the 2226 horn - why do a LAB12 horn when you can make one with a woofer you already have! It does 30Hz adequately and is a good woofer so I expect it will be one nice sub. I better add the mouth brace in on mine now :P I'll make three basshorns, one for my 18LW1400, and one each for my pair of 2225's :P haha. Nawww.... the 2225's stay in the towers.

Its nice to know its possible, and do-able! Im amazed the small mouth works so well in a corner. someday il get SW and mic and measure the distortion ,see what i get. i think that the wm-60 will provide something of a measurement anyway. WHen i have a measurement system setup,il have a fit of measurements-tv speaker,pc speakers, car, home, jbl 15",digitor horn :p What il do-see about a flat first! -i may not have room for a corner horn if my room is 2x4m :-) then i may only have room for a 12" in 3cubes :-S then make a choice after that :-) Cheers!
