I actually enjoy reading stereophile, not becuase I think it;s content has much value, but becuase it talks about a topic I am interested in. And it gets me thinking (sometimes).

I agree with you, the subjective reviews are laughable, exspecially when they are considering ultra dollar equipment, which in almost every case sounds great, and it's just opinions on which equipment is that little infitesimal bit better in the mind & mood of the reviewer that day.

I was a "faithful" subscriber to Stereophile back when faith is what you needed if you were to see your subscription fulfilled. Months could go by without JGH managing to get an issue out.

But back then, before the subscriber list was 89% doctors and lawyers, it was a very different publication. I learned an awful lot from Stereophile back then.

That is an interesting paper, Mike. I did a quick pass through and realized it was a paper I'll want to read more thoroughly. So I saved that one off to the hard drive. Thanks for the reference.
