Hi Numa, First time ever I have seen a photo of Merle Haggard next to a great system. Most underated songwriter next to Townes Van Zandt and a livig legend. Where's the ole Possum? do you have him around? Good to see good sounds well played. Too bad we lost Waylon this year. Vaya Con Dios.

I agree, Merle gets a lot of play around my system. Our current project is to organize the 13000 old country songs in a searchable database by writer, producer, weeks on the chart, years on the charts, etc... when we finish we will be able to select say, the top 40 hits of 1965 for a playlist.

Yep, quite a bit of ol George. What I really need is a way to play these 78s I have sittin around.

Numa

Theres a guy down south that restores older turntables along the lines of garrards and Duals most of which will play 78's and I am pretty sure he supplies stylus's also. The prices are very reasonable, he once gave me a quote for a Technics sl 1600 in excellent condition for 125$. If you are interested I think his site is still called The Turntable Factory. Have you heard any new country that sounds promising? Organising a data base is a great idea. J.R.

humph, new country... Well, the Cash unearthed set is pretty good... though not "new country" it was made over the past 5 or so years, so I suppose it is "new"... I haven't seen anything at the used cd store lately that caught my eye. (Boycotting RIAA, so can't buy new stuff, only used.) Sara might know of somethin.. I will ask her.
