hi,
loads of

i've been loking to upgrade my current system. its a not very good nad and mordaunt and short setup.
i don't know much about speakers, amps etc. and i don't know anyone who does. i also don't have much time to research or try speakers out. but the best sound i've ever heard came out of funktion 1's so i'm thinking about buying some home sized ones.

the f81's i'm looking at are £780 a pair,
would i want a funktion 1 sub?
if they're not worth it what are the alternatives?
and what kind of amp would i need?

also any other better ideas about a setup for around £2000 would be appreciated

cheers

My suggestion would be to DIY. You can get much better value and sound when building your own speakers. The catch is you have to do some research to build your speakers properly.
