Yep - General forum is for general A/V stuff. You can talk about cables here if you want to. You know, it's important to look at skin effect and line capacitance, 'cause if you have too much then high frequencies will be rolled off...

As for the slow going forums, I think they'll pick up after a few months. Being a start-up forum and not cataloged in search engines yet, it will just take some time. No big deal, 'cause lots-o-fun is already happenin'! Just let the slow ones build traffic, and don't worry about them. Those with interest will find them eventually.

Speaking of general A/V stuff, check out the art galleries at Visons-of-Infinedi, who is a sponsor of this site. I guess that makes them sort of fit into the "V" part of "A/V." Sheri does the web hosting for this system too, but the computer stuff bores me, to tell the truth. It's the art she does that I think is really cool. Her husband, John, does some great artwork too.

Disclaimer: Sheri hosts the site that the π Speakers forum is on. So a relationship exists. She is also my friend. But her art is really cool, and I think you'll like it, so I plugged it anyway.

ofcourse, but 'regular' cables have no problem with this?...
wireless world article showed how 10A extension cord was good compromise between R L and C ....was interesting.

so how can there be so much debate and tweaking to be done???

Well have u visited sounddomain.com forum lately?
it goes like this

1. is this HX2 louder than thumper12?
2. would air holes on my sealed box make it louder
3. how much power do i need
4. what spl will i get...
5. can some one please design me a ported box..

repeat that everyday, same questions.as if the search function doesnt exist.

when i bother going in- i have jlaudio.com tutorials, and diysubwoofers.org at the ready,to simply copy and paste sentances, saves time! when 2 sites would answer the questions people want to know, its annoying.

Quality of posts not quantity of posts ;-)
btw nice car u have ;-)

I was being a bit facetious in my comments about skin effect and capacitance. Those are really significant at RF, but not particularly down at audio frequencies. Certainly conductor and dielectric properties are quantifiable, but I'm not sure there's much there to talk about. I guess it is a hotbutton topic for some on the various cable and tweaker forums, but I've never participated in those kinds of discussions. It's just not interesting for me.

thats what i thought!

what about the never ending threads at diyaudio.com 'microdiodes' etc....lately it was power cord differences, the threads get 5000views and 200posts long..and in the end no one is the wiser!

my 3$ cable will work well enough for me now :-)

I'm not sure there's much there to talk about
YES! haha thats so funny and true
