I have all sorts of scraps of MDF lying around, so I just couldn't help interrupting other projects to start the Zaphaudio Hi-Vi B3S computer speakers. I haven't even ordered the drivers yet, and I have to check on the parts for the filter. I do have various pieces of left over veneer, and I also found a cherry board, which I'm going to use to face the front (MDF) baffle. Given the small size of the front face (under 6" x 9"), I'm hoping that movement of the wood on MDF will not be an issue. In the "I'm not as dumb as I look" category, I figured out how to route out a circle in a piece of stock that's smaller than my router base without the clamp getting in the way. Rather than clamp the stock itself, clamp scraps of wood around the stock so the stock's wedged in place. Duh!
I'm visiting friends next weekend, so I have two weeks to get the drivers, etc.
For anyone looking for a first-time project, the small size of these speakers makes them an ideal candidate.
