I have aquired a set of ESS HD1200 speakers. Sending the woofers out for refoaming. Are these any good? I believe they were manufactured in the 70's, any info anybody could give would be appreciated.
Hi Jim. I recently acquired the same pair that were in good condition except the woofers needed refoaming. I took them to a local A/V store in Olympia and they send their stuff to a reputable repair facility in Portland. Mine came back fine and I am currently listening to them and they sound great. Besides the solid low-end output, I especially appreciate the high and midrange drivers. I've never had any speakers that had horns. They kind of grow on you. A terrific find for sure. You won't be disappointed if they are done right. Regards.
