The Fostex 208EZ - Aurum Cantus - Altec 3182 combos have been running 5 days now. Essentially a clone of Olsher's Basszilla (surprise, surprise) with mid driver positioning per "The Edge" as posted elsewhere.

Really a rollercoaster to equalize - a lot more peaks and dips than the Altec 515-G - Altec 802D/511B - Altec 3182 set-up. But this arrangement, unique among all combinations purchased or built for years, is much more revealing of detail.

For the first time, it's easy to discern the microphone changes in G. Gordon Holts' reading on the Stereophile Test CD #1.

Please forgive spelling, etc... too many vodka martinis tonight.

I think that when you get everything setup to your liking, this will be one heck of a system. Those Fostex drivers sound very nice, and especially when used like you've described, I think it would make a great system. With the massive subs and ribbons to take care of the extremes, sounds like you have the makings for a top-notch system.
