This document defines some audio bands. The definition of this sort of thing is kind of fluid, and descriptions often differ a little bit from one another. Some might say midrange starts at 500Hz and ends at 2kHz. Another might say it starts an octave or more lower. Some call 2kHz the beginning of the vocal overtone region, others simply include it as the upper part of the midrange band. But all-in-all, Electro-Voice's description below is as good as any.
