Hi Everyone,
I finally got to fire up my Berendsen cdp-1.
This is a west german Cd player mad eby Mr. Berendsen, who makes OEM CD players for gamuT.
Anyways, this sounds very very good. Rock solid image, great sound!
Anyone else own a gamuT or Berendsen CDP-1, or want ot hear more, please post!
LOVE it!

What DAC to you use with it? Are you still running your Museatex Bidat?

HI Wayne,
No I sold my museatex Bidat & bought this one instead (freed up the money for other things).
I use the standalone CD player with its internal DAC.
It sounds terrific, and looks cool too.
It does have a coax output sp/dif, but I am using the unbalanced analog outs.
I strongly recommend it!
Hard to come by though....hardly ever see one for sale.

Great soundstage & separation. It lacks the ultimate perhaps organic tonality of the Bidat, but sounds very close! I have still kept my museatex bitstream, which aftter a $350 mod by John Wright, apparently sounds quite close to the bidat. Just in case I miss that bitstream sound.
But this CD player is GREAT!

HI Wayne,
The usual: A dealer in the midwest wanted to get rid of one in INT condition, and made me a good offer! The name of the dealer is audiomaven, on audiogon & ebay. I recommend him highly. Excellent packaging. Decent value.

The internet works well!
