I have seen this unit in Canada already but I wonder if it has shipped in the US? There seem to be plenty of 2900 and 5900 yet in the system and I wonder if Denon is trying to clear them off before shipping. The other thing, Denon may be using Canada as a test market to get any bugs out of the system as sales are a lot lower in Canada than the US on these units. Retail price seems to be $1999 CDN in Canada. US pricing should be more aggressive than the $1299US list. Any thoughts, comments? Thanks,
Sorry for the delay in responding. This player looks like a nice all around machine with all the options one could ask for. It seems to be labelled as a replacement for the 5900 and I haven't seen much discussion or talk of availability in the US. I am from Canada and went into my local electronics store and they already had it. Usually Canada is the last to get new stuff as we are a small market. Just thought maybe Denon had stock to clear out first in the US and was test marketing the model in Canada to see what bugs surfaced. Usually with new models there is a buzz and some new adopters that jump on the new stuff. I have not heard much buzz about this machine but it seems to be killer. I will keep watching and waiting. R
The 3910 has very good SACD and DVD-audio playback. Redbook CD playback leave much to be desired. I had to buy a Theta Digital DS Pro Prime II DAC to supplement. It uses the coxial digital signal out from 3910. The sound is less harsh, more musical. Quite nice. Quite a stark contrast to the 3910 CD playback. Howard
