I have a sears 8 track, cassette, lp stereo that the 8 track player has quit working. Does anyone know where this can be worked on at ? Does anyone know of anyplace in Indiana that works on them? I can send it otherstate if have to, I know these are pretty obsolete but I have a tremendous 8 track collection i love to listen to. Any help or info will be appreciated.
Thanks for the info wayne. I did not realize that they still repaired 8 track players. I got one in the closet collecting dust because it doesnt work anymore.
Oh man I can remember listening to my parents 8 track player when I was a kid. I can also remember their record player, which kids today have no clue what a record player or an 8 track is. That kind of makes me feel old and I'm only in my 30's LOL.
I don't know of anyone who works on them but I have a suggestion. Have you looked at it yourself? I don't think they are terribly sophisticated and you may be able to do something with it. If you don't want to do it yourself, google search it and see what you can find.
I'm not sure who would repair 8 tracks nowadays. I didn't know any still existed. That is, other than the one my dad owns. He still has quite a collection of 8 track tapes.
All you really need is an old school electronics guy. As SayWhat mentioned, 8 track players aren't incredibly complicated units.
I had my parents old 8 track player up until a couple of years ago when it got left behind in a nasty divorce. Wish I still had that thing. I felt funky being an 8 track owner in this day and age, lol.
I have to agree. Especially for people like you who have a large 8 track collection and wants to keep playing it. I wonder if VHS will eventually go that way, but I seriously doubt it.
