Had a pretty good night at an auction tonight. Picked up mostly 78s (maybe 500) and a crate of 33s, complete with Mantovanni. I did score more Edison discs, maybe 20. Didn't stick around for the Beatles stuff, but I'm sure it went for high dollar.

Passed on a stack of reel-to-reels and an Akai R2R deck for $10. I do have my standards.....C

I don't sell online, or anywhere for that matter. I got back in to collecting vinyl about a year ago, and auctions are a good way to pick up records cheap. They usually go in box lots, so it's always a surprise to see what you come home with. One of the cool sets I picked up last night is a collection of square dance music, complete with calls and steps.....C

Edison records. That's cool, just to have 'em.

Do you have anything to play the 78's on?

No, I never did find anything. I got so confused after looking I just gave up. Prices and features are all over the place - anywhere from $50 to $3,000. I need to look at the Rek-o-Kut model some more. Looks simple enough and is at the bottom of the price scale.......
