Hey guys, I recently started collecting vinyl about roughly for about 2 years now (I'm an amateur and ignorant on the subject still), but my record player (a sony PS-LX250H belt drive) is beginning to have problems. After not playing it for quite sometime (I moved, and you all know how unpacking and resituating goes) - the records are being played at a much slower speed. All the controls and settings are correct - but I'm curious as to if the problem lies in the belt being stretched out, and it's not spinning the plate fast enough, or something else! I'm torn between just buying a direct-drive, and getting rid of this - or maybe I can replace the belt? HELP. The sound is undesireable and to make matters worse I just bought some new vinyls to listen to and I CAN'T! My e-mail is shredofmartyrs@gmail.com

Right now I'm playing my Technics SL-1210 into $100,000 worth of amplification, cables and speakers. Yup, 100 large. I wish you all could hear this. RMAF, Hrumpf. Unfortunately, the speakers are leaving next week and the mono-blocks end of next month. Point is, the SL-1200, which you can get on any street corner for $200 used, or $380 new can become an outstanding source. One with a Grado Gold (anything less is excrement) will make beautiful music. later, add the silicone damping trough. Upgrade the output cables. Get a fine moving coil cartridge and a set of step-up transformers or a moving coil phono stage. Oh,ohhh, here comes Nurse Ratchet......gotta go......

If it was anybody else I'd make you wait for the review  They're parallel push-pull with pre-driver and driver, Svetlana SV572-10 triode outputs. Expense builders like separate toroidal transformers for mains and filaments, tall convective cooled 1/2" thick aluminum cases and lots of parts goodies. That's all on the website. Can't say much more except that if you had the cash, you'd seriously consider parting with it, as would I.
