I recently inherited a Beogram 8000 turntable about which I know very little (except it hasn't been played in many years). After some wrestling, I set it up, it sounds great EXCEPT: the arm of the record player halts before it reaches the center of the disc. I press the forward button (yes: button-- it's from the distant future of the past), I hear the sound of the motor but the arm doesn't move.

Anyone familiar with linear tracking turntables able to offer insight? Grease? What's it?
