I have resurrected an old Yamaha YP-701 turntable but over the years the anti-skating weight has gone missing. The anti-skating mechanism is the type where a weight is attached to an anti-skating shaft, which applies a tracking force of between 1 gram and 3 grams depending on where on the shaft the weight thread is attached.
Does anyone know what weight in grams I should use as a replacement anti-skating weight? (I thought maybe it should be 3 grams to match the max tracking force of the mechanism??).
Thanks

I recently aquired one of these. It looks like the included anti-skate weight is original. Digital stylus force guage measures it at 2.92 grams so it appears your assumption was correct.
