Hello,
Found the sony in the basement, but missing a belt, got a new belt, can't figure out how to put it on correctly. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
jmarwil

Does the platter have a rubber mat? If so, remove it and check underneath for a couple of access holes. If there are holes in the platter and you can see the base through it, you can access the belt and put it in place. Just rotate the platter and thread the belt into position.

Here are instructions (link below) for replacing turntable belts.

I have one thing to add... do not use 3-in-1 oil. It dries out and gets gummy. There are a number of good machine oils, Singer Sewing Machine Oil, Xacto Oil (from hobby shops), Breakfree CLP, Triflon, and others. All of these come in nice oiler tip containers.
