why is a reissue not as good as an original pressing in good condition? [message #12279]

can someone explain why a reissue wont sound as good as an original? is this because the condition of the tapes will have changed since the original pressing? is this problem, then, less apparent in 80s analog recordings versus a 60s analog recording?
