Hello,

I found this forum in a web search, and I hope someone here can help.

I have an auto-return turntable phonograph (Sanyo TP B2) that looks something similar to the ones in this picture:

Today I rotated the turntable clockwise manually while I was cleaning its surface with a towel. Apparently I messed up something, because since then, the turntable doesn't work. I put a platter on, mount the arm (which turns on the phonograph), but the turntable doesn't rotate. It's not stuck, though, I can still turn it manually.

Is this a common problem? What can I do about it?

Thanks!

The turntable you mentioned has a belt drive. If you rotate the platter by hand, you may have dropped, stretched or broken the belt. Remove the record mat and look and see if the belt is off.
