Hey, I have an old technics sl-1600 that will only output the left channel. Switching the left and right plugs has no effect. Oddly, it outputs the left channel to both speakers..any ideas? If it's the cartridge, what kind of cartridge would be a good replacement. Thanks for any help.

Redo the wiring on the cart. Then see what happens.

Are your wires in bad shape? If not then I wouldn't be too concerned.
