Construction details for an LM3875 PC board project.

This is part of a 'group buy' to get the parts at reasonable
costs. Brian is selling the kits. This is his slideshow.

Looks like a pretty cool little kit. Any idea how much they cost?

Looks like the kit is going well. Various items out of stock.

The order form gives the prices at the attached link.

Thanks for the link. The prices look fine; Too bad everything is out of stock. Do you know anything more about ordering from this site? Can a person make an order even if an item is out of stock? If so, do you have any idea how long before stock is replenished?

I'm pretty sure this started simply as a group buy effort which,
from reading a little more in DIY audio, is something they encourage
and do quite a bit of.

This guy Brian can prob'ly be contacted by mail. I thought the group buy was just for a bunch of parts, but apparently Brian is supporting this kind of construction with the slide show and other aids for the neophyte builder.

This slide show technique would be an excellent aid for those
wishing to do tube construction projects as well. I have see the
kits at Bottlehead advertised but do not know exactly what the sort
of instruction that comes with them might be. Here's my idea on
what's needed:

A similar slide show with pictorial representation of assembling
the parts plus an additional frame for showing how it relates to
the schematic in a sort of 'iris' insert or sidebar so that the flow of work can be viewed in relation to the physical steps of construction.

Any of you here ever build a television from a heathkit? What I'm trying to imagine is how a really good instruction guide would be
set up: an instruction guide for someone like myself who knows
nothing of electronics.

Lon, The first kit I ever built was a foreplay about 3 years ago when they first came out. I knew almost nothing of electronic construction. The instructions are very comprehensive with simple step-by-step increments easily seen in the supplied photos. The text is well written and easily followed. If you can assemble knock down furniture and if you can solder you can do it. Mine is still working and it launched me on many more projects with what I learned from the Foreplay. Part a goes into part b like so, tyhats what you get. The slideshow you describe would be needed for more complicated things but the foreplay is too simple to require that.

This is really cool,id love to either order one,or make one.I can make PCBs here at tech

The red silkscreened pcbs look really awesome though!

SHipping to NZ apparently would cost $11 US...not big.

its really great that so many people have the chance to do this :-)

Glad you found the link useful.

A friend of mine and I were looking around for canned
solutions to the Gainclone experiments and found the product
at the link below.

It's unknown (by me) if this is a workable alternative.

Cute though. :-)

I am glad they made that slide show. I have another link
for some guy's GC project which is compact and elegant...

Will see if I can find it...

Ok, got it I think.
