Re: Hornresp models, 0.5pi vs 1pi?
The measurement of the seven π midhorn shown in the previous post was not normalized to any particular reference value, so don't take its SPL as a 1W/1M or 2.83v/1M figure. The measurement was done in a relatively small room with reflections gated out...

Re: Professional series seven π and seven π-18
Here's a measurement of a seven π speaker in-room, but it's gated so bass response doesn't show up. It was done in a series of measurements made in an arc to test crossover summing and response at various positions in the room.seven π loudspeaker frequen...

Re: Outdoor HT
Outdoor acoustics is different than indoors. Boundary reinforcement is reduced, room modes aren't present and reflections are reduced too. Those are all good things, but you might find you need more bass.

Re: part out Valencias & build NorthCreek or Pi? or keep Valencias?
Greets!OK, build this, preferably using either 19 mm 13 ply Baltic Birch, Appleply, or marine grade (only if you can find guaranteed no-void though) plywood (all dims inside): H = 40.5", W/D = 19.5", add a full width 811 horn mounting recess similar to t...

Re: Bass trapping with corner horns
Use CARA to model your room and find out where your nodes line up. With four cornerhorns, you'll have a very large listening area that is uniform throuout the bass. Even with just two cornerhorns, there is a large area of uniformity. In either case, re...

Basshorns - Pros and Cons
I've had a long-time infatuation with horns of all sizes. Tweeter horns and midrange horns don't have to be terribly big to work very well, so I've always used them. But bass horns have to be large, so they're usually size-probitive for home hifi use. R...

Re: The "right" port distance
MANY THANKS WAYNE.I am going to study about the Quarter Wavelength Loudspeaker Design next as a new topic for the summer. There seems to be a lot of people exploring this issue and model speaker. It's amazing what the ressonances can do. They can amplify ...

Re: Upgrade path with 7's?
I think your room will be OK. You may want to check it out with CARA. The bay window isn't too much disruption for the lowest bas frequencies because of the long wavelengths involved. And if the room has the typical framed drywall construction of most ...

Re: Cornerhorns for this room?
Hi riotubes,After you choose the speakers you have another problem to deal with. The resonance of your space. You have a problematic "auditorium", with room modes at the baseline frequencies:31,7Hz - Width(30.2), Length(32.7)63,5Hz - Height(66.5), Width(60....

Re: Corner Horn positioning "Sweet Spot" for listening...HELP
The "sweet spot" is actually a very large area of the room. That's one of the biggest advantages of the π cornerhorn configuration. The reverberent field is very uniform because off-axis response is the same as on-axis response. The best listening p...
