Re: Parts Express 3.0 cu ft subwoofer cabinet
Thanks, WayneIt's always bothered me that WinISD gives shorter lengths for multiple ports with a cumulative area equal to a single port. Your answer makes a lot more sense.ccvogel

Re: The Subwoofer thing
I think that you may be missing the point. It is important to know what the best approach is so that we can move in that direction no matter how far to that extreme we go.As far as multiple subs go, I would never buy several expensive subs. But I would s...

Sub placement
We've looked at this before, but I think it is always an interesting topic.Outdoors, the problem is you have a lot of area to energize. There is no room gain. But you don't have standing wave modes within the walls to worry about either. Just the nodes...

Re: new subwoofer
I can't imagine anyone using them for home hifi use, and in fact would encourage them to use multiple direct radiating subs instead. The multi-sub arrangement is more home-friendly than a massive hornsub and it has the advantage of smoothing room modes. ...

Jordan JX92S questions?
Hi everyone,I have been looking at the Jordan JX92S transmission line project on the Jordan website. The only damping material shown to be used on their site, is felt behind the driver. I have not built a transmission line speaker before, but I thought ...

Re: One driver for FULL spectrum or one driver for critical portion of spectrum?
I suppose both ideas are pretty reasonable. To me, I had always dismissed the single driver idea as having too much lost on the bottom end and the top end of the response curve for my tastes. They also tended to be limited to relatively low listening leve...

Re: 18" Subwoofer Horn - Opinions wanted!
Hey BillYeah, that's a good point. A few others have also reccomended this. Max linear SPL is that of the graph shown, 30Hz and above in Hornresp shows excursion requirements are minimal, but in the 20-30Hz region, excursion requirements shoot up greatly ...

Re: Cool.
You're right that the Eminence LAB12 will be highly damped in a PiAlign'ed enclosure.Nice flat repsonse curve too, having f3 at 35Hz and f10 at 20Hz from a cabinet smaller than 2ft3. Very small size, and good extension. For even deeper extension, consider ...

If you have multiple subwoofer boxes (low pass 60hz) in the same room seperated by great distances (within reason),will the low end cancel out or is it better to group the boxestogether, ie do people place one subwoofer in each corner of theroom or both in...
