Re: Multiple Speakers
You can buy an amp with multiple sub outs or you could use the A/B wiring common on most amps, for starters.

Re: Multiple Speakers
Thanks for the confirmation. Will it make any difference for when I'm listening for music if I have a setup of 2.2 rather than just 2? I guess having a 5.2 setup for movie watching is enough if the player used for movies and music is the same.
It wi...

Re: Best choice for my set up
I use a phantom center channel. Toe-in so the right and left axes cross just in front of the listeners.
Imaging, placement and orientationAbout corner placement - I'm not against putting subs in corners but I'm definitely against putting a single sub...

Re: Kilomax-18
You betcha. Put it in a 10ft3 cabinet tuned to 25Hz. It will actually work well in even larger boxes, up to 20ft3, if you have the space for a cabinet that large. Give it plenty of vent area, at least 50in2. That will work very well down low.

Re: Upon further investigation..
I think the MTM idea is definitely doable, but I find that the nulls are well spaced using the matched-directivity two-way approach I employ, so I'm not sure the MTM gives anything extra. The whole point of both approaches is vertical control and we hav...

Re: Multiple Subwoofers
I agree with what Wayne has said. Multiple subs are a wonderful thing. I'm not sure I agree 100% with the geddes corner-placement scheme, as maximizing modal interaction for the single sub may leave some leftover ripple, but certainly it's a huge improve...

Re: Multiple Subwoofers
Crawlspaces are a problem because the chamber underneath the floor forms a resonator that can cause peaky response. It will suckout some sub frequencies and leave others very loud. Other than that, if you have a concrete foundation, I'd say the floorin...

Re: Multiple Subwoofers
I agree in all aspects except the points of asymmetry and number of corner sources. I realize you know my position in this matter but I'll restate just in case other readers don't.
There are two schools of thought on this, one championed by Todd Welt...

Re: Multiple Subwoofers
For the record, I'm another advocate of multiple subs. While intuitively it seems like overkill especially in a small room, the reason to go with multiple subs is bass quality, not quantity.
The smaller the room, the farther apart the room-induced peak...
