Re: Low Pass
That's my aim, flanking subs. So I'll give that Rolls crossover a try using the stereo low pass. For distribution subs using plate amps, whats the best method of running a signal to it? Doesn't running a long interconnect cause problems? I wondered if I sh...

Re: Low Pass
The 100Hz at 12dB/octave (2nd-order) slope recommendation is specifically for flanking subs, which are a type of multisub arrangement. Distributed multisubs are usually run lower and with a quicker slope, often 60Hz at 4th-order or 80Hz 4th-order. The ...

Re: Low Pass
The problems you're talking about are pretty common. They're impedance-matching problems. The load of the passive crossover is interacting with the output impedance of the preamp. And those inline filters are really lossy too, so I don't like using th...

Re: Three Pi and Three Pi Sub Plans
If you can mount the speakers in the wall, that's perfect because it removes self-interference from the wall as well as removing any baffle step. It really is the best option. You can setup the subs as distributed multisubs rather than flanking subs. ...

Re: Three Pi and Three Pi Sub Plans
Thanks for the great response; that's exactly what I was trying to understand. Again, the design seems very elegant, and I wish I could accommodate the cabinets in my room. I have been thinking about building a baffle wall, however, as I already have an...

Re: Three Pi and Three Pi Sub Plans
What you propose sounds like it would work pretty well. You would lose a couple synergies that are designed into the three π and four π models though. And you would need to test your design with acoustic measurements, paying special attention to the lo...

Re: Definimax 4012HO - End of Life
Do not forget that this design almost requires flanking subs for deep bass response. You can consider it to be a three-way design with the woofers detached. They are adequate without subs, but certainly not optimal. They get better bass extensio...

Re: Definimax 4012HO - End of Life
Hello Following this one very closely. Both speakers are widely available in Europe and quite inexpensive. Even the B&C which can be a expensive brand, can be found below 200€ here. This would give me the perfect upgrade path, by using existi...

Re: Definimax 4012HO - End of Life
I'm not ready to make an announcement, but I can give a status update. I have a pair of Eminence Delta Pro 12A woofers and a pair of B&C 12PLB100 woofers here to test with. Both look like they will work very well from modeling and from free-air...

I would like to build a set of flanking subs for my 4Pis. Could you please send me the plans? Thank you.
