Thank you. I will let you know what happens with the flanking subs! Good luck in building yours, post up some pictures! Have you got any pictures of your setup at the moment?

Midbass slam
I went to a house party the other day which was outside and they had hired some pa speakers, they weren't huge probably 12" 2 ways and a pair of 15-18" subs. The bass was really powerful, that classic hit you in the chest bass just like only li...

Re: Mono "flanking sub"
I remember earl geddess suggesting having adjustable Phase knobs on the back of subs in a multi sun set up, so presumable like you say you can move the points in the frequency where the cancellations happen to help smooth the response.

Re: Mono "flanking sub"
But if using delay on the mains helps the response across the seats because the flanking subs are not in the optimum position, it's not a problem?

Re: Mono "flanking sub"
Wayne Is there an explanation why zero delay was flatter then most other options I tried? Any delay configuration I tried just moved the dips somewhere else in the response? One thing I did try before I got my new amp was to change the mains distance to...

Re: Mono "flanking sub"
It's Interesting that I found adding no delay to my two subs gave the flattest response, this was after hours of trying endless possibilities of delay between the two. Thanks again for being so helpful!

Re: Mono "flanking sub"
That explains it perfectly Wayne! Do you think delay may still help my setup because mine won't be in totally diffrent 3d space, only except below the mains? Do you apply delay to you distributed subs? I remember reading geddess recommends an adjustabl...

Re: Mono "flanking sub"
Delay is set by position. That's the point of having the subs behind, beside and below the mains. It creates delay in three dimensions, which no electrical method can do. Having the subs behind the mains delays the direct sound and it makes the reflec...

Re: Mono "flanking sub"
Ok great that is pretty much what I did for my single! I have tried to look and I'm sure I've asked you before but couldn't find the answer, do you add any delay to the mains or flanking subs to smooth the response? I imagine because in your method th...
