Re: Active crossover for 3Pi
So that is the tube implementation? Is there an opamp circuit as well? I prefer solid state so I don't need a high voltage supply ...Thanks.

Re: Active crossover for 3Pi
Yes, it would work just fine for the three or four π speakers. There was a PCB available from Gary Kaufmann back when I did the Spice model, so hopefully you can still get them from him.

Re: LAB-12 CROSSOVER ?
I use an active crossover with 90Hz 12dB/octave low-pass slope. Sometimes, it is good to go a little higher, sometimes a little lower. Don't high-pass the mains, let them blend. The further away the subs are, the lower the low-pass frequency for the su...

Baffle step and collapsing directivity
I was just in another discussion with some folks that considered baffle step correction a mandatory step in crossover design. I don't dismiss it entirely, but I do think it is sometimes given too much emphasis. Another thing I noticed is that these peop...

DEQX
I know Jim Griffin and Rick Craig are using DEQX processor/active crossover , I am actually using DCX 2496 from behringer that already outperformed the passive crossover by a good margin , there is no dout the difference is huge in price and quality , bu...

Re: low pass/crossover and different ohms help
A passive crossover requires a specific load to work with. Too large resistance and it is underdamped, making a peak near the crossover frequency. Too little resistance and it is overdamped, making a shallower slope than expected. In either case, the c...

Target transfer function for 4pi?
Hi Wayne: I have some of the JBL 4725s I'd previously asked about, and an active crossover. I'd love to see what this similar driver/cab configuration sounds like with the 4Pi crossover function, but need to know what I'm shooting for in terms of FR sha...

Design Stage : a 4-way system
An open invitation for those of you familair with building a 4 way system. I'd like to hear your thoughts. My concern is the lowest x-over frequency. Right now, 60 Hz is the choice.Below 60 Hz will ultimately be infinite baffle bass. No concern there. Wher...

Salvaging my misguided array Help Fred
I thought I had chosen compatible drivers but my buyout Foster meets Dayton neo dome array circles the drain. I chose the Foster woofers over the extended range drivers as the midrange looked a lot smoother. It all started out as a Tallerey, I then saw ...
