Re: horn types?
the only reason im not going that direction is because it cost more money than its worth. im mean the klipsch center is great as are many other consumer centers. but since ive looked into diy i cant justify paying more and getting less. i do agree to get ...

Home Theater w/ PI questions
Sorry in advance for the long note and all the questions.I'm building a Home Theater / Game / Bar combo room. Based on the rave reviews for PI and a hankering to build something, I plan on going DIY. The room will be ~ 25x33 with a 8 to 15' vaulted ceil...

Re: You've got mail!
Yeah, I asked for them about 2 years ago now. I never got them. I sure would like a pair for my pi7's. I could use them for the speakers listed below too.I have the chance to, for the first time, build a room around a home theater vs. a home theater aro...

Re: Measuring coils
This is an inexpensive meter with LCR capabilities. It will not be as accurate as the method Wayne suggest, If you dont have a scope or a good bridge, I think this is affordable and works great for checking crossover coils. its 89 bucks. Bill multi meter ...

Measuring coils
hello everybody!is there a way i can measure a coil without a LCR meter? because i`m making the coils for the xovers myself, and well, i wish to know if they are on the right value...thank you all!!Matias

Re: C5 & R3 values - accuracy of driver
Yes my LCR meter is pretty accurate (at least for the inductance goes). I also find it funny that both drivers are not identical spec (with reasonable variances). For each speakers i get an:Le of 0.66mH & 0.64mHRe of 6.5 & 6.4 ohmsSo for C5 i've installed ...

C5 & R3 values - accuracy of driver
Hello Wayne,I'm curious on the accuracy of my Eminence Delta 15A woofer (used in Theater 4 Pi speaker xover). On their spec. page they show:Coil Inductance (Le) = 0.86 mH Coil Impedance (Re) = 6.9 ohmsUsing the above, C5 = 18uF and R3 = 8.625But when using...

Re: Spice revisited
To calculate the equivalent LCR electrical circuit for mechanical resonance, find Zmax, and set the shunt resistance equal to that. Then find inductance and capacitance values equal to the (Zmax) resistance divided by the Q at the resonant frequency. ...

Q. for Wayne - Spice Models
Wayne:How do you derive the LCR values for the mechanical reactances shown in the crossover document. I'd really like to be able to generate them for other drivers. Thanks,John B.
