Re: pi align software
I assume you are referring to the "Lo Cut" and "Hi Cut" fields. Those were originally intended to store raw driver cutoff points, though I rarely used them. When I started writing that software, I had intended to use it to do the electro-mechanical alig...

Re: Corner Horn Recommendations
I think maybe I should point out that it isn't the corner or even the room that we've focused on mostly in this discussion, it's the distance between speakers. The room will play a roll because of its dimensions too, but the thing we've focused on mostly...

Re: Somebody needs to try
Balsa wood and neodymium. Make it sealed and fill it with helium and you won't even have to use stands. Use just enough to offset the weight of mateials and make it have buoyancy where it just floats.

Re: Single Driver doubter no more
I know what you mean. A simple little system like this can sound pretty good with a watt or two.The first few recent popular single driver systems I heard kind of sucked, to be honest. So I had a somewhat biased opinion really, and thought I wouldn't rea...

Re: Tweakin' Two's
There are a handful of horns that really benefit from damping and/or destressing, and the plastic piezo sure couldn't hurt from added mass. So I can certainly see this as an attractive thing that can be done, in the spirit of "tender loving care."As for t...

Capacitors
As capacitance is made smaller and smaller, the more it resembles an open circuit with the gap between conductors growing larger and larger.A capacitor is a very simple device. It is two plates separated by a small gap. The larger the surface area of the...

Re: Stands for 2 Pi
Yeah, your speakers are taking a little longer at the cabinet shop than I had expected too. The holiday season slows things down, and I'm sorry. But I don't think we'll miss the deadline by much - I expect 'em to go out the door just after the first, som...

Re: Stands for 2 Pi
Looks like you got a lot of good suggestions. There are lots of great guys here, and I suspected that they'd have some input. Most consider bookshelf speakers to be fairly insensitive to placement, and compensate for any inadequacies that result from pos...

Re: Height for the Pi 4
It really depends a lot on the model, listening room and conditions. Usually the larger ones like the Theater Series, I prefer them standing on the ground. The smaller ones like the Professional and Stage Series are better off the ground a little bit, on...

Now you're cookin'!
Good ideas on both counts:1. Move the audio room to the one with the concrete slab.2. Make towers that double as stands for your one π's and cabinets for your subs.Sounds like you have a great system in the works!
