After finally finding some time, I've boughten the wood for making the T2's. I'm going with 13/16 Birch for the fronts, sides, and tops and 5/8 MDF for the bottems and rears.

Wayne...any additional suggestions...ie Port hole diameter, etc.?

Have I sent you the plans? They show the port size, which depends on wood thickness. Place cross-braces a third of the way up in the cabinet and a third of the way down. Span the cross-section with a sheet of acoustic insulation in addition to lining the inside top, front and side walls.

Yes you did and my detailed sketches are made from your plans. Is the 4 5/8" port size for the 3/4" close enough for the 13/16" thick board I'll be using? (Extrapolating would be 4 11/16" but I think I would be splitting hairs..or...?) BTW, if you'd like them for your review and use, I've got the sketches in Autocad.

Did you say the rear is 5/8" thick? If so, use a 4 1/2" diameter port. If the rear panel is 13/16" thick, then I'd go with 4 5/8".

Thanks Wayne...I snooped around the forum and found the answer about the same time you responded. (Should've looked before asking)....

Now I've got another q.......Do you glue the rear panel on permanently or do you secure it in another way? I understand the importance of a tight enclosure, but what about maintenance, repair, fine tuning, etc.....?

I glue them together. You can access the drivers easily enough for service. Nothing else really needs maintenance.

Roland,

You access the inside of your finished enclosure through the driver cut-out. If you plan on taking the driver on and off frequently, use t-nuts and bolts instead of woodscrews.
