hi wayne, i'd like to convert the premium stage 4 pi's port from the rectangular version to a 4" round. can this be done and if so what is the depth?

That's getting pretty small for earthshakers like the Premiums are. But you can expect the same tuning frequency if you'll make a 4" diameter port that's 3.5" long.

I recommend that you consider keeping the larger rectangular port if you can.

A 6" diameter port would be perfect - Make it 10" long. But the trouble is that you can't fit this port in the cabinet; It's a tight squeeze.

Then again, if the compression horn is mounted externally, you might not have any trouble fitting the 6" round port. And I know how you like to put those cool wood horns on top of the cabinets!
