I was wanting to try to start editing music just for myself. Does anyone know about a good board to start with that is not too expensive? I would be very grateful!

Have you checked out Audacity? It's open-source software that will work across multiple platforms. There isn't much it can't do as far as I know. There is a bit of a learning curve to using Audacity, but they have an active forum full of helpful people if you get stuck. You can find tutorials on YouTube too.
