Well....It's been a fun journey, but I think my bedroom system is done (no really - the wife actually can see this stuff)

Intergrated amp: Cayin TA-30 with Wing-C EL34s and Mazda chrome plate 12ax(and u)7's

FM Tuner: MD FT-101

HD Tuner: Sony XDRF1HD HD Radio Tuner

CD Transport: Theta Data Basic

DAC/Headamp: Audio-gd Compass

Cables: Blue Jean IC and Coax; 14ga. Royal Cable for speakers

Speakers: 2Pi

Headphones: Grado 325i

The Sony HD tuner was the last piece, and it arrived today. There are a ton of HD stations locally. Best buy in a long. long while.......C

Very cool.

I'm like that too. I find a system I like and live with it for years. I have to change up for shows, usually rotating speakers every couple years. But I don't tend to change my home listening rooms nearly as often. Once it's good, it's good.

Seriously, I know you have that great stash of tubes; are the Mazdas that much better than RCAs, etc.

Regards to you and the Fam, BTW

The system is very nice. I had the opportunity last week to see it in person.

I was impressed how the 2 Pi's and the Cayin EL34 PP amp sounded together.

I'm still old school and have not quite warmed up to digital tuners, but I have to admit the Sony sounds pretty good!

Of course Colin's REAL audio system is still in the basement!!!

Yep, I hear you on digital tuners. I have 2 Dynaco FM3's right now, which are an amazing tuner, and a coupld of Heathkit SS units (those boys at Heath knew their RF!), and I've had a Mac MR-65, also amazing. I love analog tuners with analog dials. Must be a throw back to my ham radio daze!
