Anyone see the photo's of the Cream show? Gee, I don't remmember Ginger Baker using a walker..
Someone wrote that they lost steam on some of the longer songs, what a surprise, Jack Bruce looked stressed; he wasn't singing White Room he was asking for the Bathroom.

MB,

My computer's been down -- sorry I didn't respond to your Spirit post.

Between Spirit and Cream, Cream was my cup of tea. Jeez, I remember when all of a sudden I became aware in Ninth Grade there was all this amazing music coming out almost daily -- Cream, Jimi, Janis. I was like a kid in candy store. I still have all those albums, I'm happy to say.

Where/when was the Cream show? I didn't hear about it. Ginger Baker in a walker? Frankly, that's better than I expected -- he looked half dead thirty years ago. Just last week I was playing my Blind Faith album (the one with the barely pubescent girl on the cover -- how did they get away with that?).

Cream played the night before last. Ginger baker wasn't really in a walker but the journalists claimed they looked real old; christ he's 65!
Allison Steele right, late night new music everyweek. Remmember the day Tommy was released? WNEW played the whole album through non-stop. Those were the days. I almost understand how the roaring twenties and flappers felt when the war killed the music.
Love the Bathous; I see bats behind my house every night, I should build one.

There was, however, a dark side to that era: as far as I could tell, every girl played only three albums, and they were ALL by Joni Mitchell.

"I rode my bicycle past your window last night
I roller skated to your door at daylight
It almost seems like you're avoiding me
I'm okay alone, but you got something I need

Well, I got a brand new pair of roller skates
You got a brand new key
I think that we should get together and try them out you see
I been looking around awhile
You got something for me
Oh! I got a brand new pair of roller skates
You got a brand new key

I ride my bike, I roller skate, don't drive no car
Don't go too fast, but I go pretty far
For somebody who don't drive
I been all around the world
Some people say, I done all right for a girl

Well, I got a brand new pair of roller skates
You got a brand new key
I think that we should get together and try them out you see
I been looking around awhile
You got something for me
Oh! I got a brand new pair of roller skates
You got a brand new key

I asked your mother if you were at home
She said, yes .. but you weren't alone
Oh, sometimes I think that you're avoiding me
I'm okay alone, but you've got something I need

Well, I got a brand new pair of roller skates
You got a brand new key
I think that we should get together and try them out to see
La la la la la la la la, la la la la la la
Oh! I got a brand new pair of roller skates
You got a brand new key"

The mind reels.

Your scaring me now! I had to run back to get some Prozac. I had a flashback to "Candles In The Rain".

"We were so close there was no room
We bled inside each others' wounds
We all had caught the same disease
And we all sang the songs of peace"

What on Earth is she talking about?

It's been covered! Sort of a funky version.
