Hi Wayne,

I was reading your Pi Align doc and I realized a had two copies. One is at least a few years old. Did you delete one of the speaker designs in the back of the document? The horn that's not a corner horn? If so, why? It looks like a cool way to make a bass horn touring cabinet or a home speaker.

Thanks for sharing your great work.

Regards,
Chris L.

Yes, I removed the 1970's ten π picture from the back, which was a horn with a spiral style fold. I'm still making basshorns that way, but the old ten π is now obsolete. Check out the 12π basshorn instead.

Wayne,

Is that due to the very large size of the 10 Pi horn?

Regards, Ron

That's one reason. The other is that the 9π/12π combination supercedes it. The old ten π was a folded horn that used a 2205, 2225 or 2226 driver. It had had just one fold, and its panels acted as reflectors for higher frequencies. So it could be used to relatively high frequency. But the midbass horn in the 9π also uses the 2226, and it is a straight horn. Naturally, this is a cleaner arrangement.
